About Our Work

VISION

Our vision is that all mothers and babies in California are thriving at one year postpartum.

APPROACH

California Maternal Health Innovation carries out our vision in three key ways:
by funding existing programs,
collaborating with programs and individuals,
and leading initiatives.

We Fund

The California MHTF’s Innovation Funds awards align with California MHI's overarching goals by strengthening high-quality, respectful, and trauma-informed care to promote the sustainability of community-based services, as well as collaboration across public health, health care, and the community to improve risk communication and care coordination. The awards also align with the findings and recommendations of DHCS’ Birthing Care Pathway, which emphasizes the importance of capacity building and technical assistance support for services that can be provided in-place and in-community.

We Collaborate

We know we are stronger together. California MHI works hand-in-hand with other maternal health teams in our state to improve care.

We Lead

California MHI works to bring together existing programs and efforts in our state. We work to lead collaboration and accelerate progress.
